The founder of the Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has revealed that former President Muhammadu Buhari had no knowledge of the controversial raid on the residence of Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

Bakare disclosed this on Monday evening during an interview on Television Continental’s programme, Beyond The Headlines.

According to the cleric, although he had several private discussions with Buhari on national issues, he rarely criticised him publicly.

However, Bakare said the invasion of Igboho’s house by security operatives in July 2021 was an exception.

“I was really livid, and I remember saying, ‘You will never see me again while ministering.’ And then he sent for me and said, ‘Do you know I knew nothing about it?’ I said, ‘I wouldn’t know. It’s under your watch,’” Bakare recounted.

The former presidential aspirant explained that Buhari told him some security agencies often acted on their own and later claimed they were following orders.

“There are so many things that security people would do, initiatives they would take, that they would now say they were acting on instruction,” he quoted Buhari as saying.
