Werder Bremen forward Victor Boniface has been summoned by the club’s hierarchy after a series of controversial social media posts drew criticism in Germany, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
The 24-year-old striker, on loan from Bayer Leverkusen, joined Bremen in the summer and was heralded as the new focal point in attack.
However, EXPRESS News reported that he has unsettled the club with unusual online activity and must now report to the bosses for talks.
“Boniface has caused real trouble at Werder Bremen. The reason is strange social media posts. Now the striker has to report to the bosses,” the German outlet reported.
