BREAKING: Ikpeazu Suspends Free Cooking Gas Dispensing To Abians, Give Reasons

The Abia state governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has announced the suspension of the ongoing free cooking gas dispensing by Dr. Basil Ogbuanu, the Managing Director of SECOND COMING GAS LIMITED.

In a release signed by the Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu made available to ABN TV, the governor said the gesture jeopardises social distancing practice, a measure to curtail the spread of coronavirus in the state.

The ongoing dispensing of free cooking gas to the people of Abia State by Second Coming Gas station, Umuahia, has been suspended by the state government to avert possible crowd control challenges.

“We wish to express our sincerest appreciation to the management of Second Coming Gas Company for their good gesture and will inform them and members of the public of a new dispensing plan that will help to avert any breakdown of law and order as well as implement the operating guidelines aimed at preventing and controlling the spread of COVID-19 in our state” he said.
