The Prelate of Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminaence, Dr Oliver Ali Aba has extolled Bishop Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha at his 60th birthday celebration, describing him as an iconic servant of God and embodiment of humility.
At a church dedication and communion service held at Saint John Methodist Church Okai Item in Bende Local government area of Abia State to mark the diamond jubilee celebration of Bishop Onuoha, who is also the President Vision Africa International, His Eminaence, Dr. Aba said the celebrant has continued to exhibit humility despite his social status.
The cleric noted that the Grace of God has made Bishop Onuoha to give back to his community.
While reading from the book of Luke chapter 17 verse 15 to 17, the Prelate observed that Jesus was alert to ask for nine out of ten people that received healing and appreciated Bishop Onuoha for coming to tell God thank you for keeping him alive.
He further charged the congregation to live a life that will glorify God and not dwell on material things. The Prelate also urged the youths to emulate the workaholic life of Bishop Onuoha who has used his contacts as a servant of God to touch lives positively.
According to him, Nigeria is struggling to meet up with its obligations despites the human and mineral resources.
“Nigeria has over 200 million population and it is good for workforce, it is unfortunate that Nigeria is experiencing such but let’s depend on God.”
Speaking during the church service, the Chief celebrant, Bishop Sunday Onuoha said he sees the world as his parish and has devoted himself to work with different kinds of people including non-Christians.
He maintained that the Agnes Onuoha Memorial hospital was instituted to immortalize her for the passion she had for people while alive.
Bishop Onuoha urged Nigerians to have faith in God, adding that God has a purpose of calling everyone on earth. He said that the Saint John Methodist Church Okai Item is a source of strength to him which prompted him to use his first fruit as a worker in United States of America to build the church.
Laying the foundation of new structures at Agnes Onuoha Memorial hospital, the former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo thanked Bishop Onuoha for giving back to the society.
Chief Obasanjo added that the family of Onuoha has done well to immortalize Agnes and prayed that through the hospital, lives would be saved. He thanked Bishop Onuoha for given back to his community.
In his speech at the reception ground, the Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti thanked Bishop Sunday Onuoha for supporting his government and for accepting to serve God. The Governor observed that the date of the event marks one year God used Professor Nnenna Oti to declare him winner of the Governor of Abia State.
Otti said God used the day to say that enough is enough, saying that the state is celebrating God breaking the jinx of bad leadership in Abia State.
He noted that 60th years marked the beginning of Bishop Onuoha’s greatness, praying God that he will live beyond 100 years.
Eulogizing the qualities of Bishop Sunday Onuoha the keynote speaker HE, Pastor Umo Eno the executive Governor of Akwa Ibom state who was ably represented by the commissioner for transport Akwa Ibom state Rt. Hon. Owen Essien, said the journey of Bishop Sunday Onuoha mirrors miles in a profound significant manner.
“Having gone through the same aspect of life, I realized that Bishop Sunday Onuoha and I are both priceless instruments in the hands of God”.
The event featured many activities including the presentation of award to Bishop Sunday Onuoha as the Grand Commander of Peace and Development of Item land, GCDI.
