Abia state governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has described the Member representing Bende Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu as a fantastic federal legislator and a great representative of his people and the people of Abia State.
The Governor who stated this on Tuesday at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House Umuahia when he received a delegation from the Niger Delta Development Commission who were in the state on a working visit. Hon. Kalu was part of that delegation as a member of the House Committee on the NDDC.
In the words of the Governor “Let me at this point state it publicly, perhaps for the very first time that in Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, we have a fantastic legislator and both his people of Bende Federal Constituency and indeed the state are proud of him. In the discharge of his duties in Abuja, both as member and Spokesman of the House of Representatives, Ben has shown uncommon diligence and a great mystery of the issues involved in governance.
“Beyond his call of duty in Abuja, he keeps tabs with what happens at home. He calls me regularly to encourage us and ask questions”.
Earlier, Hon. Ben Kalu described Governor Ikpeazu as a leader who pushes for the best for the people of Abia State and relates with people on the basis of equality and not on political inclinations.
Hon. Kalu said that the Governor has remained very accessible to him irrespective of the fact they belong to different political parties and has kept the development of the state above narrow political considerations.
