Bayelsa Guber: Diri’s Lead Drops As Sylva Wins Brass

The lead of Governor Duoye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, which was over 60,000 as of the time collation was adjourned on Sunday night, has shrunk to 13,577.

The result of Brass Local Government Area, where Timipre Sylva, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC). hails from, reduced the margin.

According to the result announced at the collation centre on Monday afternoon, Sylva polled 18,431, while Diri trailed with 12,602.

This brought the total votes of Diri to 105,511, while that of Sylva stood at 91,934, leaving a margin of 13, 577 votes.

So far, Diri has won four LGAs, while Sylva has secured victory in two.

The result of Southern Ijaw LGA is being expected.
