Ban On Keke Operations Only Applies In Aba — Abia Govt

Abia State government has said the ban on tricycle operations, popularly called Keke recently announced by the state Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu only applies in the state commercial capital, Aba.

The ban restricts operations of commercial tricycle operators within the hours of 7pm to 6am daily, a measure being put in place to check crimes.

This is contained in a statement on Thursday by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Chris Ezem.

He said, “Following incessant report on rising wave of crime perpetrated by some unpatriotic tricycle ( KEKE) operators in Aba

“The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Ph.D has approved the immediate ban on KEKE operation in Aba from 7pm to 6am daily till further notice.

“Security Agencies in Aba are to arrest, detain and prosecute defaulters.”
