Honorable Amobi Ogah, the member representing the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Constituency, has passionately pleaded for the southeastern region to receive its due share of states.
Ogah emphasized that the region deserves equal treatment, urging that the southeast be balanced with six states, like other zones in the country.
Ogah’s statement comes as a call to action, seeking to address the perceived imbalance in the country’s political structure. He stressed that the focus should be on achieving equity and fairness, rather than being distracted by divisive rhetoric.

“We’re not asking for special treatment, but rather equal representation,” Ogah explained. “Six states for the southeast, just like other zones, is all we’re asking for. It’s about time we rectify this imbalance and give the southeast its due.”
In his own words: “Let nobody come and distract us in the name of we are Igbos in Delta State, Rivers State. It is not what we are talking about. Give the southeast what is due for them, balance the southeast.“
This call to action aims to rectify the long-standing imbalance and ensure the southeast receives its rightful place in the country’s political landscape.
