Abba Atiku Abubakar, son of Nigeria’s former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging to mobilize political support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Abba Atiku Abubakar was received on Thursday evening in Abuja by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, and the National Vice Chairman of the APC for the North East, Mustafa Salihu.

The move is being viewed as a significant political development, particularly in the North East, where the APC is intensifying efforts to consolidate its support base ahead of future electoral contests.

As part of his defection, Abba Atiku Abubakar announced the rebranding of his political platform. The group, originally established in 2022 as the Atiku Haske Organisation, has now been renamed the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation, reflecting his alignment with the ruling party and his commitment to President Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

Party leaders at the reception described his entry into the APC as a boost to the party’s grassroots mobilization drive, noting that his involvement is expected to strengthen outreach and engagement across key political blocs.

The development adds to the growing list of political realignments shaping Nigeria’s evolving political landscape as attention gradually turns toward the next general elections.
