AtikuGate: Atiku In Fresh Corruption Saga, As Former Media Aide Drops Bombshell

Former media aide to PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, Michael Achimugu, has spoken out about Atiku’s extensive corruption and promised that there will be more to come.

Achimugu also cautioned Nigerians against supporting Atiku in order to protect their offspring and grandchildren.

He issued a warning to the candidate’s attack dogs not to try to pursue him because he has signed an “affidavit of facts” that will be made public if he is defeated.

On his website, www.lionofjada.com, he claimed, “My lawyers are properly briefed and geared for the mother of all exposures whenever something happens to me or any member of my family.”

As one of my precautions against potential retaliation from the sequence of disclosures I will be making, I have sworn to an oath of facts that will be made public later.

Achimugu presented Atiku’s justification for the N100 million allegedly deposited into his account by incarcerated Governor Joshua Dariye of Plateau state in the first video exposing Atiku’s irregularities.

Achimugu, who represented Atiku before the media, had enquired about his justification.

Atiku’s revelation that he had committed corruption indirectly, covertly, or through an SPV—a special purpose vehicle—was upsetting to him.

Achimugu was informed by Atiku that Dariye’s funds were deposited into a Marine Float account that was under his or his allies’ control.

In the publicly available video, Achimugu captured Atiku lecturing him on what an SPV is and how they were designed as vehicles for corruption.

Achimugu also described how one of Atiku’s pals took over a media company he founded with billions of naira on the website.

“I was reminded of one of the most emotional times I’ve ever had with him during the SPV talk. The Waziri described how he spent “billions of naira” establishing a media firm using Olushola Akanmode as a figurehead and purchasing equipment at the end of 2017.

He claimed that Akanmode turned him down when he requested the return of his business. Considering that the documents were in the proxy’s name, Atiku was unable to appear in court. He told me at that time, “Everyone I have assisted is never as devoted to me as I was to Shehu Musa Yar’adua,”

“I was overcome with emotion and felt terrible sympathy for him. Akanmode is still friends with the same people today. In one of the successors to this article, I will go into further depth,” he stated.
