Member representing Aba South State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Obinna Ichita has alleged that he was on Wednesday, August 25 attacked by yet-to-be-identified assassins.
The attack according to the lawmaker occurred during a Town Hall Meeting with his constituents, ABN TV reports.
He alleged that the attackers was sent to kill him to stop further investigation billions of Naira received by the state government from the Paris Club Refund.
In a Facebook post in his verified page, the lawmaker said, “Dear Constituents and friends, this is to bring to your attention that I came under attack while meeting with my constituents today.
“The number of people injured is not yet ascertained at this moment.
“The attackers were sent to kill with the intention of stopping further questions about the 56 Million US dollars received from the World Bank for the construction of roads in Aba South and the whereabouts of the Billions of Naira received as part of Paris Club refund.”
The state House of Assembly is currently investigating alleged misappropriation of funds received by the state government from Paris Club Refund which runs in billions of Naira.
