Former Niger Delta guerrilla Asari Dokubo says he will organize a march to the National Assembly to support the Igbos’ bid to separate from Nigeria, with over a million signatures from Nigerians around the country.

On Thursday, he made the statements in an Instagram video that Koikimedia disseminated via its Twitter feed.

“Please, President Ahmed Tinubu, I am going to write to the signatories of over one million people all over Nigeria and march to the National Assembly to allow the Igbos to go,” stated Mr Dokubo in the video, which had over 58,000 views.

Mr. Dokubo’s comments follow a recent visit to Mr. Tinubu in Abuja, during which he told reporters that liberating Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), would be tantamount to rewarding criminals.

In the video, the former Niger Delta militant urged Mr. Tinubu and the National Assembly to pass a constitutional modification to allow the Igbos to leave peacefully.

“We do not even need a referendum,” said Mr Dokubo. “The president should meet the National Assembly, and somebody courageous enough to sponsor a bill at the National Assembly, there should be a constitutional amendment to allow the Igbos to go.”

The president’s spokesman, Dele Alake, did not answer Peoples Gazette’s request for comment on the topic.

Although Article 2 of the constitution prohibits secession, Mr. Dokubo said that it would serve as a purge of the entire country.

When questioned about Mr. Dokubo’s proposal for Igbo secession, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and House of Representatives spokeswoman Khadija Abba did not respond immediately.

Mr. Dokubo said the Igbos may secede and declare Mr. Kanu their “messiah,” referring to them as the “true aggressors” professing to be “victims.”

The ex-militant emphasized that the struggle for Biafra was too much for Nigeria. He cautioned that if the Igbos leave, they will no longer be able to freely enter Nigeria, particularly through the southern corridor.

He stated that allowing the Igbos to secede will be the greatest benefit to the black race worldwide, and Mr. Tinubu will be remembered as one of the world’s greatest leaders.

Mr. Dokubo stated that “Alaba Market, Computer Market, and Ladipo Market would no longer exist,” adding, “Let the Igbos go.”

“Any product they have, if they want to fly it, they should fly it anywhere. But we will not allow them to pass the Ijaw territory and our coastline from Santababara to the new Calabar River,” the Nigerian leader’s ally stated further. “Let the Igbos go, no shooting, no killing, no nothing whether it is sympathetic Igbo or moderate Igbo, all of them let them go with all their pipelines and the small cup of oil they produce; we cut it off, give them their own and no problem.”

Be careful what you are asking for, it may come back to bite you. It won’t be Niger-Area, just you and your loud mouth grifter.
What informed you that Ibos want another war? Some crazy Yorubas want out, some criminal northerners want out. Crazy Trump wanted his own America with or without colored people. Prigo wanted his own army within a Russian army. Shit happens all over the world, all the time. Ibos are not isolated. But good people always find a way to come together and make it together. But a grifter, like you, who makes evil money by inciting division, love moments like these. The Ibos you hate wish you well. That is why they sleep very well at night and you don’t.
