Arochukwu PDP Chair Secretly Frustrating Efforts To Revive Party — TC Chairman Alleges

Ahead of the forthcoming PDP congress in Abia State, the transition committee chairman of Arochukwu local government area has accused the local government PDP chairman of sabotaging efforts to return peace to the LG chapter of the ruling party in the state, alleging that the Party’s poor performance in the local government during the 2019 election is attributed to lack of peace.

He made this allegation in a statement signed by his Chief of Staff, Emmanuel Awah and the Deputy chairman of PDP in Arochukwu, Ezinne Grace Chijoke made available to newsmen.

The TC chairman said he has unraveled plans by the PDP chairman in the local government to go against the directive of the state governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and other party bigwigs in the local government by attempting to hold a parallel stakeholders meeting on Saturday at the party office without following due process, a move he said was thwarted, forcing the chairman and his loyalists to relocate to the home of another party chieftain.

“The attention of the TC chairman and the entire PDP Stakeholders Arochukwu LGA has been drawn to the clandestine meetings of the Arochukwu LGA PDP chairman to go against the directives of the leadership of the Governor of Abia state directives on the modus for the conduct of the forth coming party Congresses in the LGA as adopted in the state caucuse meeting held at the state banquet Hall on the 18th February and 1st March 2020 respectively.

“That the TC chairman after receiving briefs from the state through the Deputy Governor of Abia State and the Member Representing Arochukwu Ohafia Federal Constituency the highest elected political office holder cum the party leader in the LGA directed the Arochukwu LGA party chairman to send in relevant stakeholders lists for the purposes of invitation to the meeting to brief members on the above decisions which the chairman obliged and all inclusive meeting was scheduled and subsequently held on the 28th February 2020 at the Old colonial building Arochukwu Local Government Council Headquarters recording over 90% attendance with unexplained absence of the incumbent LGA party Chairman and few persons.

“Decisions were reached by the stakeholders present and in tandem with the resolutions reached as approved by the state caucus.

“The party welcomed the developments as it was seen as a panacea to the miraids of the problem facing the party in Arochukwu LGA and was seen as a clear pathway to bringing everybody on board a feat the subsisting Exco never achieved.

“This no doubt will rebuild the party as it will led to the election of competent hands that will pilot the affairs of the party to winning future elections come 2023.

“Sadly the LGA party chairman and his minority cotravellers are vehemently trying to resist the new state party policy their attempts to nicodimously trying to hold a hand picked characters to hold a parallel stakeholders meeting today at the party office without following due process for the purpose of churning out lies and to counter the directive of the state party leader using the instrument of the LGA party office in Arochukwu LGA HQ a move that was vehemently resisted by vigilante party faithfuls which the surreptitiously relocated to the private residence of Dr Philip Nto provost of ASECTA at Ukwuakwu UTUTU a beneficiary of the present large heart of the Governor Ikpeazu administration to hold a factional meeting for the purpose of sabotaging and to resist the efforts of the Governor to reposition the party in order to continue to serve their selfish ends” he said.

He also stated that the chairman and his loyalists of not wielding much electoral value in their respective wards, saying they have never won election in their units.

“It is on record that these select few has never won elections for the party in their respective units and wards. The purpose again for their nocturnal meeting is to create their usual impression of having built castles in the air in Arochukwu LGA PDP.

“It should be emphasised that this attitude as being orchestrated by these few led to the loss the party experienced in the last general elections in the remaining four clans in Arochukwu local government save for ABAM clan that came for the rescue that delivered her clan to PDP both in 2015 and 2019 elections wholistically. Yet these characters still want to carry on as if nothing has happened and thinks in their warped senses that we should carry in this manner.

“It is on record that Dr Philips Nto and his Co travellers never showed up as a leader they claim to be in the last concluded court ordered rerun election including loosing in the General elections woefully in his unit ward to opposition party including the PDP state House of Assembly candidate who incidentally is from his village Ukwuakwu and his UTUTU ward”.

He called on the general public to ignore what he called their antics, insisting that the party is ready to take back the local government to assuage the damage done by the PDP chairman and his loyalists.

“We are by these asking the general public to disregard their antics and to reassure all that the pdp stakeholders are deserious of taking back the soul of party in order to mitigate the damage caused by these set of persons and that we are on working round the clock to reposition the party during the forthcoming Congress in line with the directives of the Governor the leader of the party in the state.

“We also want to use this medium to issue out a stern warning to these factional leaders not to test the resolve of the stakeholders to implement and carry out to the letter the decisions reached by the leader of the party in the state Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu to realize reposition the party whollistically back to winning ways.

“That their acts of sabotage shall not be tolerated anymore and that the party must move forward.

“We call on the state party chairman to call these elements to order as they have already been debased publicly round the LGA by loyal party faithfuls from carrying out their nefarious conduct any where in the LGA in the name of our party PDP.

“We have sprawling Eagle eye on them unless the turn a new live by aligning them selves in joining us in championing the visions of the leader of the party in the state Dr Okezie Ikpeazu” he concluded.
