Arochukwu/Ohafia Fed Constituency: Our People Only Concerned About Capacity Not Place Of Origin — Chief Okeke | VIDEO

The APC House of Representatives candidate for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency of Abia state, Chief Dan Chimezie Okeke has said the people of the constituency are only concerned about the antecedents, capacity, competence, and integrity.

He said leadership in the present time has gone beyond where people come from but their ability to bring results.

Featuring on ABN TV’s Political Perspective on Thursday, the Ututu Arochukwu-born philanthropist dismissed insinuation that his candidacy negates efforts to balance representation in the two local governments — Arochukwu and Ohafia which make up the federal constituency.

The current House member for the constituency, Rep. Ukoh Nkole hails from Arochukwu Federal Constituency and the people of the Ohafia local government area say it is their time to represent the Constituency.

Chief Okeke, however, believes that the people want a man with an excellent track record to represent them not just about where he is from.

“We no longer talk about where you come from, we talk about competence, capacity, integrity. We don’t just want to put anyone there, just because he is from a certain place. If he goes there and doesn’t perform, our people are the greatest losers.

“That is not what our people want. We need someone that will go there, do something good, and represent our people.

“Apart from that, where I come from in Ututu, we have a link with Ohafia,” he said.

He called on the people to support him for the good of the Constituency come 2023 and beyond.
