At least two persons have been shot dead in Ebem Ohafia, Ohafia local government area of Abia State following an attempted to attack the Military Check Point.

ABN TV gathered that the two unidentified victims were shot dead on Friday at about 2pm.

According to eyewitnesses, trouble started when the two men who rode on motorcycle refused to alight at an army checkpoint situated at FGC gate in Ebem Ohafia as is the customs in the area.

After crossing the checkpoint with speed without pushing their motorcycle to pass, they were alleged to have returned and queried the soldiers why they should subject them to such treatment in their land.

An argument was said to have ensued between the soldiers and the two men and they attempted to attack leading to officials of the Nigerian Army opening fire on them.

They were said to have died on the sport, arising from bullet injuries.

Though the story is still sketchy.

This came virtually 24 hours after about five soldiers were killed in Aba, capital of Abia State by gunmen believed to be enforcing sit-at-home order declared to commemorate Biafra Day.

Army has vowed to retaliate the killing of the soldiers during a press conference.

Abia State government has since condemned the killing of the soldiers and went ahead to place N25m bounty on information that will lead to their arrest.

All efforts efforts to get the reaction of the army proved abortive.

The bodies of the deceased according to eyewitnesses were taken to the army barrack by the soldiers.
