Abia State governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has applauded officers and men of the Nigerian Army, 14 Brigade Goodluck Jonathan Barracks Ebem Ohafia for celebrating the 2021 Nigerian Army Day Celebration with a free medical outreach to their host community.
The Governor who was at the event on Monday represented by Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Chris Ezem noted that healthcare is a very vital element of the people’s welfare.
He further noted that the need for adequate provision of health care for Abians cannot be overemphasised.
ABN TV reports that the Governor expressed gratitude with the gesture of the Nigerian Army which he said will further cement the relationship with the civil populace.

He also thanked the Commander of 14 Brigade Goodluck Jonathan Barracks Ebem Ohafia, Muhammad Bello Wabili for his efforts in ensuring that people of the State are protected in an environment where they can conduct their daily activities without fear of molestation.
He also expressed the readiness of the state government to at all times provide the necessary logistics support in making sure that the Army carries out their duties adequately.
ABN TV reports that the free medical outreach featured consultations, diagnosis, treatment, free blood pressure check, free sugar level test, distribution of medical kits, as well as distribution of delivery kits and mosquito nets to expectant mothers and others.
People of Ohafia also benefitted from the free eye and dental care.
In his comment, the Commander of 14 Brigade Goodluck Jonathan Barracks Ebem Ohafia, Muhammad Bello Wabili expressed the commitment of the Nigerian Army to ensure a cordial relationship with their host community.
He also assured that the Nigerian Army will partner with other security agencies to ensure that Abians sleep with their eyes closed.
