APGA Chieftain, Okorafor Urges Abia Political Leaders To Embark On Developmental Strides

A stalwart of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and a former candidate for the Arochukwu state constituency of Abia State, Prince Ike Okorafor, better known as Dike Ogu 1 of Abam has called on politicians in the state to shun stomach infrastructure and be productively engaged with developmental projects that will have a far-reaching impact on the people.

According to Okorafor in a statement, if politicians can pay due attention to infrastructure, education, healthcare, and job creation, it can help uplift communities and improve the standard of living for all citizens.

According to him, Stomach infrastructure, while providing immediate relief, is not a sustainable solution.

He noted that it is important for politicians to invest in projects that have long-term benefits and address the root causes of poverty and underdevelopment.

The APGA chief noted that politicians must build roads, bridges, schools, hospitals, and other public amenities so that they can create an enabling environment for economic growth and social progress.

Prince Okorafor maintains that a healthy opposition in Abia can act as a watchdog to ensure transparency, accountability, and good governance, an opposition that will hold the government accountable for its actions and policies, and an opposition that can help prevent corruption and abuse of power.

A strong opposition he said can also provide alternative ideas and solutions to the government’s policies, fostering healthy debate and ensuring that the best interests of the people are served.

He therefore appealed to Abia politicians to prioritize long-term development and stop focusing on short-term gains.

“By shunning stomach infrastructure and focusing on productive engagement, politicians can contribute to the growth and well-being of the state. A healthy opposition can act as a watchdog to ensure good governance and accountability. Together, these efforts can help Otti’s government deliver for the people of Abia”, he stated.
