A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe, has described as “total madness everywhere in the South-East” allegations of him receiving huge money to help northerners actualize an alleged Islamization agenda.
Igbokwe stated this via a post on his known Facebook page on Wednesday.
“I HEAR THAT THE CULTURAL SAVAGES AND IRREDEEMABLE BIGOTS FROM SOUTH EAST SAID I COLLECTED MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO HELP ISLAMIZE IGBO NATION. Total madness everywhere in the SE. Ndi Uchu!!!” Igbokwe wrote.
Some persons have always allege that there are people in power secretly working to Islamize Nigeria, a secular society — although no one has been able to prove with evidence, beyond reasonable doubt.
Recall that in August, a retired Navy Commodore, Kunle Olawunmi granted an interview on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily programme where he alleged Islamization and Boko Haram sponsors in government.
“When you want to look at these type of challenges, what you do is go through what we call the intelligence circle. When you do the processing and analysis before dissemination point, you discover that the end game for them is to just turn this country to a Taliban type of country.
“It’s a mindset and anything goes. In other words, 10 percent casualty, 20 percent casualty is allowed in trying to achieve the end game of Islamising this country,” Olawunmi had said.
His interview attracted public interest, and he was invited by Nigerian authorities to provide more details about his allegations.
