APC’ll Lose Presidency If It Fails To Zone Presidency To South East Or North East — Sen. Kalu

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu

Chief Whip of the Senate, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu has cautioned the ruling All Progressives Congress APC against taking for granted the high profile defection from the party to the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP formed by former governor of Kano, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, especially in North West

The Abia North Senator says this could cost APC and PDP the presidential seat especially if the two dominant parties fail to zone their presidential tickets to South East or North East.

He therefore reiterated his support for a President of North East extraction if APC cannot zone its ticket to South East.

He said, “The recent high profile defections to the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, especially in the North-West geo-political zone should not be taken for granted by our great party, the All Progressives Congress ( APC)

Sponsored

“I’m using this opportunity to reiterate my earlier position that the presidency should go North-East if it can’t be conceded to the South-East for equity and fairness.

“The silent majority who have a working conscience could protest this injustice by supporting Engr. Rabiu Kwankwaso to clinch the presidential seat in 2023 if our party, the APC and the opposition PDP field their candidates from any other zone aside South East or North East . This is because when purpose is not known , abuse becomes inevitable.

“It is time to unite and rally round a zone that has not produced the nation’s president since the rotation convention dispensation that began in 1999.”
