The Next Governor of Abia State will be of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says a chieftain of the party, Hon. Chibuike Jonas who noted that the influx of new members from other political parties will strengthen the state chapter of the broom party.
Hon. Jonas a former chairman of Arochukwu local government area told ABN TV that the high-profile defections into the party will be a boost in especially as the party’s leader in the state, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu works hard to move the party forward.
While noting that the APC is the party to beat in Abia State, he called on the governor, Alex Otti to consider joining APC, saying it will be an opportunity for the state to gain more from the federal government in terms of infrastructure.
According to him, the governor was originally of the APC and is welcomed to the fold whenever he decides to make a return.
