He polled 96 out of a total number of 110 accredited voters to coast home to victory ahead of four other contestants.

Chief Okeke expressed displeasure that Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency has for a long time been left behind for a long time, assuring that if elected he will ensure the incorporation of the constituency in the scheme of the nation’s affairs.

He said, “Most importantly, our women are really suffering, they don’t need much from us, it’s just a little empowerment and capital in the area of business and craft for self-reliance.

“They play critical roles at home, they shoulder a lot of responsibilities as caregivers to their children and wards. If they are adequately empowered, the burden will be reduced and our homes will be at peace.

“It’s not a difficult thing to make sure that people around you are happy. As an individual I have been doing it on my own. What I now seek is a larger platform with the instrumentality of the state to attract life-changing projects and my people will be happy.”

He insists that the crisis in Abia State chapter of APC has been resolved, expressing hope that the “few issues” yet to be laid to rest will be trashed before the campaigns commence.
