The management of Abia State University (ABSU), is allegedly demanding N15,000 “pandemic prevention fee” from students as they resume for the completion of their 2019/2020 academic session.
In a memo signed by the institution’s registrar, Acho Elendu, obtained by ABN TV, the school said this has become important for the health of the students.
The memo further instructed returning students to make payment through the school online platform, insisting that evidence of payment must be provided before students can participate in the examination
“All returning student are to pay a pandemic prevention fee of fifteen thousand (N15,000) Naira only.” it read.
The development has however attracted condemnation from students as they wonder why they should be mandated the pay the sum despite the economic hardship of the moment.
