The Anambra State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to bringing to justice the suspects involved in the gruesome murder of Hon. Justice Azuka, pledging to re-arrest those who escaped from custody.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, February 20, 2025, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ikenga Tochukwu, urged the public to maintain trust in the force, emphasizing that the police remain dedicated to ensuring justice.
“…Please trust us again. The police cannot be the same people who risk their lives with other security operatives to arrest these criminals involved in the gruesome murder of Hon. Justice Azuka and still turn around to sabotage the process. Remember that we had earlier paraded these suspects for Ndi Anambra and the world to see,” the statement read.
SP Tochukwu further assured that officers involved in the operational lapses leading to the escape of the suspects are undergoing interrogation and will face severe sanctions. However, he stressed that the police’s primary focus remains the re-arrest of the fugitives.
The Anambra State Police Command has urged members of the public to provide any useful information that could assist in apprehending the suspects, reaffirming its commitment to upholding law and order in the state.
