Amobi Ogah Salutes President Tinubu For Appointing Gen Ike Nwachukwu As Board Chairman

Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency at the National Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Control, Hon Amobi Godwin Ogah FCE has thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing an Isuikwuato great son, Gen Ike Nwachukwu (Rtd) as board chairman.

Gen Ike Nwachukwu (Rtd) was appointed the Board Chairman of University of Nigeria, Nsukka by President Tinubu among other notable Nigerians few days ago.

Recall that, Gen Ike Nwachukwu (Rtd) was the Military Governor of Old Imo State, and a two-time Foreign Minister of Nigeria during the military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida.

He was also a former Senator for Abia North from 1999 to 2003.

The appointment of Gen Ike Nwachukwu (Rtd) as the board chairman of University of Nigeria, Nsukka is a round peg in a round hole, as he believes that, President Tinubu did well to have found the great son of Isuikwuato to stand in that capacity.

Ogah further stated that Isuikwuato people are happy and appreciative of Mr President for finding their illustrious son worthy of his appointment.

Meanwhile, he has also advised some miscreants marauding as Abia APC Stake Holders Forum to desist from their fruitless journey of dishing out junks in the name of release as the appointments into the board of various Nigerian tertiary institutions across the country is not a political settlement but based on merit and capacity.

It is quite unfortunate that most of those who claimed to have signed that release are all failed politicians who could not even bring dividends of democracy to their people when they were initially allowed to serve.

People who were thrown out of their various elected positions by their constituents due to their underperformance and anti-people politics while they held sway as elected members of their various constituencies are crying for an appointment that will benefit the general masses, students of various federal institutions across the country.

This is not the first time, President Tinubu will be appointing people who are not members of APC and it will not be the last time.

I want to encourage the President to always spread his tentacles across the board and beyond members of his political party for an assignment and appointment that will benefit the people, he concluded.
