Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency of Abia State, Hon. Amobi Ogah has expressed condolences to the family and friends of the first civilian governor of the State, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu.
Onu, an ex-minister of Technology and Innovation in the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, reportedly died in a health facility in Abuja on Thursday following a brief illness.
He resigned in 2022 to join the APC presidential race.
Ogah in a condolence message on Thursday, Ogah described the late Ogbonnaya Onu as deliberate and focused, adding that his death was a big to the country, particularly the South East.

Ogah said, “He was a gentleman, focused and very deliberate. He has run his race and gone to his maker. We can only continue to wish for his soul to be at rest wherever he is.”
The lawmaker also extolled the late Onu for remaining at the forefront in championing the course of Igbo inclusion in the nation’s political and economic firmament.
