The American Veterans of Igbo Descent (AVID), a nonprofit organization consisting of Igbo men and women who have served or are still serving in the US armed forces, has extended its warmest congratulations to President-Elect Donald Trump on his election as the 47th President of the United States.

In a heartfelt letter made available to ABN TV, AVID praised Trump’s political career advancement, citing his humility, honesty, and caring attitude toward the downtrodden as key factors in his victory.

They also commended his commitment to the “peace through strength” approach in global affairs, deeming it crucial during these challenging times.

AVID’s President, Chief Dr. Sylvester Onyia, and Secretary, Dr. Godson Obiagwu, expressed their sincere congratulations on Trump’s historic election victory, hoping his return to the White House would bring a new beginning for America and reinforce alliances between nations.

This congratulatory message comes as Trump prepares for his inauguration on January 20, 2025, marking the formal start of his presidential duties.
