Politician and businessman Amb. Barr. Charles Nzechi has congratulated former military President Gen. Yakubu Gowon (Rtd) on his 90th birthday celebration, extolling his unwavering love and dedication to Nigeria.
In a congratulatory message on Saturday, Nzechi commended the former Nigerian leader for the impactful policies and programs he initiated while in office, including the NYSC scheme and unity schools, which he said have significantly contributed to Nigeria’s unity and progress.
These initiatives he noted continue to serve as models for fostering unity and togetherness in our country.

He further applauded Gowon’s commitment to harnessing the unique gifts and collective strengths of all Nigerians, regardless of faith, tribe, or any other differences, urging current leaders to aspire to emulate Gowon.
He said, “We are thankful that God, in His infinite mercy, has preserved you until this moment, allowing the younger generation to benefit from your profound wisdom, patriotism, and love for our country. Even in retirement, your dedication to the Nigerian project has remained steadfast, and your efforts with the National Prayer Movement have continued to uphold the pillars of harmony, unity, and love among Nigerians.
“You are a distinguished leader known for your humility, integrity, and honor.
“Our prayer is for the Almighty God to grant you continued good health and longevity, so that you may carry on the commendable work you have been doing for Nigeria and humanity in general.
“On behalf of my family and the Charles Nzechi Foundation, I wish to extend my heartfelt congratulations to you on reaching the remarkable age of 90 years. We are grateful to God almighty for granting you this grace.”
