Former Minister of Transportation and ex-Governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Amaechi, has returned to Rivers State, arriving at the Port Harcourt International Airport in Omagwa as a prominent member and leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Amaechi, formerly a leading figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), was welcomed by a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters who gathered at the airport despite heavy rainfall. Many had arrived as early as 8 a.m., dancing and drumming in the rain until Amaechi touched down around noon.
Upon his arrival, he was officially presented with the ADC’s party symbol, marking his full integration into the coalition party.
In a brief address to his supporters, Amaechi confirmed his membership in the ADC and declared that the party was ready to establish a strong presence in Rivers State. He also criticized the state’s history of election manipulation and pledged that such practices would not be tolerated in the 2027 general elections.
