Alleged Fraud: ICPC Vows To Appeal High Court Judgment On Ex-JAMB Registrar, Ojerinde

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) said it will appeal the ruling of the Federal High Court, Abuja on the civil rights claim filed by the former Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Prof. Adedibu Ojerinde.

ICPC said made the disclosure in a statement.

The court had fined the ICPC N1 million damages and cost of N200,000 respectively for the arrest and detention of Ojerinde over alleged corrupt practices.

The commission expressed its dissatisfaction with the ruling of the Federal High Court and intends to appeal the ruling.

It stated that it had a valid warrant issued by the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court dated 6th December, 2022.

In 2021 the commission arrested Ojerinde for misappropriating N900 million.

Also in January 2023, the ICPC re-arrested Ojerinde following order issued by the Chief Judge of the high court, Justice John Tsoho, on an ex-parte application that was brought by the commission.
