Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti has given officials of the immediate past government of ex-governor Okezie Ikpeazu until 4pm Tuesday, June 6th, 2023 to return all government properties in their custody.
This is contained in a statement on Saturday by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Kenneth Kalu.
ABN TV reports that the state government warns that failure to abide by this ultimatum will attract serious sanction.
“It has come to the knowledge of the State Government that some Government officials, including appointees of the past administration, are still holding on to Government properties, such as vehicles, generators, laptops and other assets.
“Anyone who is in possession of Government properties is hereby directed to return such to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, on or before 4pm on Tuesday, June 6th, 2023”, the statement read in part.
The governor also directed that those who return government properties should obtain necessary acknowledgement from the SSG’s Office.
