Alex Otti Foundation Awards Scholarship To 26 Students, Tasks Beneficiaries On Performance (Photos, Video)

The Executive director of Alex Otti Foundation, Dr. Alex Otti on Saturday announced that the organisation has selected 26 beneficiaries for sponsorship throughout their university education.

He stated this in his remarks at a banquet organised in honour of the beneficiaries in Umuahia, Abia State capital.

While urging the beneficiaries to pay due attention to their academics, the former bank executive noted that the foundation has been in the business of helping young scholars archive their dreams. 888 كازينو

He further stressed that the foundation selects beneficiaries from in and outside the state including non indigent who resides in the state.

He said, “I love education. As a kid growing up, | may have loved it without fully comprehending its capacity for miracles. | may have loved it because | performed well in class and soaked in the praises from teachers, parents and classmates. But my love for it as an adult, business owner, employer of labour, and entrepreneur, stems from my years of observing education @s a social leveler, and how it takes people from nothing to everything. This appreciation of the transformational powers of education is why we are here today. It is why we spend so much money every year ensuring that this scholarship extends opportunities to > everyone who seeks and merits it.

“And we won’t stop. We will continue to intervene in the education of our children in a way that also recognizes and respects their human dignity. From day one, we have been particular about this. | am told that a common story among the candidates, who make it to the scholarship’s interview stage, is that the Alex Otti Foundation treats its scholars like royalty. You also may have heard from one of the new inductees’ parents that she had expected the interview to have thousands of people struggling for space and pushing one another. “This now brings me to one of the core objectives of the scheme: raising the next generation of leaders. We desire every touch point with the Alex Otti Foundation to be an avenue to inspire the students who come in contact with it, such that even if you are unable to make the final scholarship list, you still would have learned how to treat people with respect. | am sure those of you here today will attest to how the Foundation’s Management Committee treated you like you matter, because you really do matter. Now you need to pay that forward, go out there and treat everyone else the same way. Our scholars must live exemplary lives and lead with humility and respect for others.

“You also are aware that we are taking up your tuition and a few other costs, until you graduate, to free you from all forms of distraction. The implication is that we will not accept a drop in your CGPA, If you go below the scholarship’s benchmark yearly CGPA or 3.5 for universities and 2.8 for other tertiary institutions, you will not receive your payment for that year. As you heard from the Executive Director in the documentary we watched, it happened last year. We want you to focus wholly on your academics and engage in only extracurricular activities that will help develop you physically and mentally.”
