The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of zone 9, Umuahia AIG Isaac Akimoyede has called on the newly recruited men of the force to at all times uphold ethical values, professionalism and ensure they are fair and just in their relations with the public.
ABN TV reports that AIG Isaac Akimoyede represented the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba at the passing out parade of 444 recruit constables of the Nigeria Police Force at the Police Training School Nekede on Wednesday emphasized that the police are critical stakeholders in the security of the country.
A release signed by SP Yisrael Ini-Obong Jack-Rabin, the Police PRO in charge of zone 9 Umuahia made available to ABN TV, said their passing out follows a thorough all-round training as General Duties (GD) Officers for six (6) months.
The 444 recruits comprise of which, 247 are males while 197 are females. Abia, Imo and Ebonyi States are all under zone 9.
While congratulating the 444 men of the force, the AIG reminded them that their Passing Out from the training college marks the commencement of an arduous sorjoun in the Nigeria Police Force.
The statement added, “The Abia State Governor, who was represented by Barr. Chris Ezem the Secretary to the State Government Abia State charged the constables to do the Police Job with a conscience while wearing a human face.
“The Commandant of the college while giving the vote of thanks during the ceremony, appreciated the AIG, the Commissioner of Police (CP) Imo State Command, members of staff of the college, the IGP and his team, and most particularly, President Buhari (who is also the Chairman of the Nigeria Police Council), by being magnanimous in his administrative policy of approving the regular recruitment of ten thousand (10,000) police every year to make up for the long existing manpower deficit/ needs of the Force which the just passed out constables have just been privileged to join officially today.
“The event was well attended with lots of merriments by the new officers’ families, friends, and relatives”.
