Again, Ikpeazu Vows To Complete Work On Osisioma Flyover, Ururuka, Aba-owerri Road, Others Before Rainy Season

Abia State governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has again reiterated his readiness to ensure the completion of construction of Osisioma Interchange (Flyover), Aba-Owerri Road, Aba (Segment 2), Ururuka road, and others before the rains set in.

The Governor had earlier set December 15 deadline for the completion of some ongoing road construction works in the state.

This was part of resolutions reached during the state Executive Council Meeting held on Friday at the Banquet Hall Umuahia under the chairmanship of the governor.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, the governor charged the Ministry of Works the ensure the completion of the projects, adding that relevant contractors have been mobilised.

“1. That the state ministry of works endeavor to see to the completion of the following active Infrastructure projects within the current dry season window as relevant contractors have been mobilized to site:

“2. Exco directed the Finance and General Purpose Committee (F&GPC) to review the contract for desilting, embankment, and channelization of Aba River to enable it receive more stormwater envisaged from the ongoing water management project in the Ndiegoro area of Aba.

“3. Exco approved funding of the first phase of the Azumini Blue River Tourism Enhancement project.

“4. Exco directed the contractor handling the new government house projection Umuahia to expedite work to enable the achievement of agreed milestones within specified timelines.

“5. Exco directed security agencies in the state to ensure that all cult groups operating in the state are eradicated,” he said.
