Barely five (5) days after the report of killing of a middle-aged man identified as Idongesit whose body dumped in Umuahia drainage, another unidentified young lady has been killed by suspected hoodlums and dumped in an uncompleted building in Afaraukwu area of the city.
ABN TV on Friday learnt that a rope suspected to have been used to strangle her to death was discovered in the scene.
Our correspondent gathered that workers in the building had resumed at the construction site on February 4, 2021, four days after taking a break but were shocked to see the lifeless body of the young unidentified lady facing down.
One of them whose name anonymous raised alarm before men of the Abia state police command from Ehimiri police station, Umuahia arrived the scene.
She has since been evacuated while efforts are ongoing to reach her family members.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Mr. Geoffrey Ogbonna confirmed the incident, saying investigations are ongoing.
There has been a growing call on the governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu to be more proactive in ending the orgy of insecurity that has enveloped the state.
Late last week, a POS operator was also attacked in Aba for a robbery gang.
She was injured and rushed to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
