The management of Plateau United Football Club says it has set up a committee to investigate the attack on players of Enyimba Football Club in Jos on Sunday.
ABN TV reports that fans of the Plateau United had invaded the pitch after a goalless draw with Enyimba, beating up and injuring the players of the Enyimba side and journalists who had come to cover the event.
The club in a statement issued on Monday by the chairman of Supporters Club Mallam Audu claimed that one Yahaya Sunusi (Leda)and Auwalu Shaidan have been suspended from Plateau United FC supporters club, appealing to them to immediately report themselves to the police.
The chairman said he totally regrets and condemns the bizarre attack on Enyimba players in Jos.
He noted that the committee set up to investigate the matter will not spare anyone found culpable in the attack, saying there would be dealt with decisively.
