AFCON 2023: Ex-Chelsea Midfielder, Mikel Obi Makes Prediction

Former Chelsea midfielder, John Mikel Obi has predicted the country to win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.

The 2023 AFCON will take place from January, 2024 and will be hosted by Ivory Coast.

However, Mikel Obi firmly believes that Nigeria’s Super Eagles can clinch their fourth AFCON title in Ivory Coast.

In a video shared by CAFonline via its X account on Thursday, Mikel Obi confidently stated that the Super Eagles will turn out victorious and take the trophy home to Nigeria.

“This is coming home. The tournament is coming home, AFCON 2023 is coming home to Nigeria.” Mikel Obi said.

Meanwhile, the 2023 AFCON draw was conducted on Thursday night and Nigeria was placed in Group A alongside Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.
