In an effort to keep their environment clean and hygienic, residents of Adelabu Street, off Azikiwe Road in Umuahia Abia state have taken a lead position walking the talk by taking up the responsibility themselves of ensuring the the street and its surrounding environment are fit for human habitation.
This is also in full participation of their resolve to engage in the assignment to every last Saturday of the month.
Speaking with ABN TV at the venue of the exercise on Saturday, the chairman of Adelabu Neighborhood close, Prof. G.A Emerole applauded the landlords and tenants of the street for taking part in the exercise.
While challenging other landlords to do same, he noted that the government alone cannot meet the needed environmental care for all, enjoining residents to clean up their environments for a healthy living.
He said that is part of the transformation he is bringing to bear his he emerged the chairman of Adelabu Street residents.
He called on the public to continue to show interest in their welfare, saying his executive members are in full participation of the exercise.
According to him, if all residents will show interest in their environmental care, the entire state will be clean to live in.
