ABSU Law Faculty To Relocate To Uturu Main Campus By June 2025

The Abia State University (ABSU) Law Faculty will officially relocate from Umuahia back to its main campus in Uturu by June 2025, following the conclusion of the first semester, ABN TV reports.

This decision was finalized during this week’s Executive Council meeting, presided over by Governor Alex Otti. The move is part of the administration’s broader efforts to enhance higher education in Abia State. The delay in relocation was attributed to necessary logistical, procedural, and accreditation requirements mandated by relevant professional bodies, as well as considerations for students with pending examinations.

In a related development, ABSU has recorded a significant 48% increase in first-year student admissions, with enrollment rising from 4,196 students last year to 6,042 this year. The state government remains committed to maintaining strict admission standards for professional courses such as Law, Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing, ensuring the integrity and credibility of the educational system.

With the relocation now confirmed, the government reiterates its dedication to quality education, institutional development, and academic excellence, positioning Abia State as a hub for transformative education.
