Okali applauded the team for the good job they are doing in placing tourism industry in Abia on the pedestal of progress.

According to him, there is so much focus in oil revenue which has led to abandonment of tourism industry in Nigeria, a sector that serves as huge revenue spinner in developed nations.

World Tourism Day Celebration in the state is slated to take place from the 25th – 27th of September, 2022 in Umuahia.

Queen Atulomah expressed gratitude for the support, saying the media has a role to play in projecting the efforts of her office as well as sensitising the people of the state on numerous opportunities in the sector.

Contributing, the Chairman of the 2022 World Tourism Day Celebration Steering Committee in the state, Mr Dimgba Ejieke said the importance of effective collaboration among stakeholders in the industry cannot be over-emphasised.
