ABN TV Celebrates Children, Assures Continuous Support To Their Development

As the world marks the 2020 Children’s Day, the management of popular online medium, ABN TV has assured its commitment to promote the welfare and development of young people in Nigeria.

This is even as the organisation decries the maltreatment of children during the COVID-19 lockdown and exportation of almajiri children from one state to another in the North.

The Director ABN TV, Mr Ifeanyi Okali who stated this on Wednesday also called for more engagement on children in the school enrollment.

He said, “Needless to emphasise that the period of the COVID-19 lockdown provided an opportunity for family bond and at the same time it was a hard time for some children in the hands of irate caregivers and guardians. The period provided for the physical and emotional torture of our children across Nigeria and beyond.

“The exportation of innocent children in the North also calls for concern especially at a time when the campaign for the protection of children gains more momentum.

“We cannot fold our hands and watch the future of these young ones mortgaged. Out-of-school children rate is alarmingly high and must be confronted”.

He appealed to parents to always nurture their children with good moral upbringing for good of society.

The organisation pledged to be at the forefront of piloting affairs that will support a brighter future for the children especially education and protection of their rights.
