Ahead of the forthcoming general elections, the Abia State chapter of the Tinubu-Shettima Grassroots Independent Campaign Council on Thursday at Umuahia played host to its National Elders led by Senator Chris Adighije, who joined the Council meeting virtually.
Member, Finance and Fund Raising Committee of the Tinubu Shettima Independent Campaign Council, Sir Marc Wabara and member, Security and Intelligence Committee, Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika (retd) were Elders of the Council present during the meeting.
Speaking via telephone, Abia State Elder at the National Office, Senator Chris Adighije urged them to do everything they can to give the All Progressives Congress, APC, a resounding victory, adding that Abia State has heavyweights like Wabara, Ihejirika and others to accomplish the desire of the party in the State.
According to him, “Some people must look in the crystal ball and see what Nigeria is likely to be after the elections, particularly the elections of February 25. We are not just talking about South East; we are talking about Nigeria. We have to do everything we can, so that Abia State can have the boldness to move to the negotiation table at the right time.
“You are on the right track; we are moving in the right way. Show our people the light so that they can follow the way”.
The meeting, which was preparatory to the visit of the APC presidential flag bearer, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Abia State later in the month, was facilitated by the State Coordinator/Director of the Independent Campaign Council, ICC, Rt. Hon. Martins Azubuike, who, in his remarks, highlighted the urgency in the Coordinators of Local Government Areas to constitute their Ward and Polling Units Executive Committees.
The members of the Abia State Directorate, Senatorial and Federal Constituency Coordinators of the ICC were also in attendance.
