Abia State Govt Denies Banning The Use Of “Takeaway” Plates

The Abia State government says it has not placed a ban of the use of styrofoam foils, popularly known as “takeaway” plates which restaurants mostly use to package foods.

The state government through the Ministry of Environment however warned residents on the environmental hazards associated with the single-use foil.

This is contained in a statement on Friday made available to ABN TV signed by the Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Philemon Asonye Ogbonna.
