Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji has directed proper medical attention for a woman and her child with immediate effect.
This came after the Abia number one lawmaker came in contact with the woman whose identity could not be ascertained as at the moment of this report, believed to be in her 30s
The woman who appeared traumatized almost ran into the Speaker’s convoy with her baby in her hand just opposite Access Bank on Library Avenue, Umuahia.
The Speaker ordered his convoy to stop and invited the woman over for close interaction.
He thereafter directed a former Deputy Chairman of Umuahia South Local Government Area and current zonal chairman of Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA), Waste Management Committee, Umuahia South Zone, Hon Chibuzor Ejim who incidentally was around the area to take the woman and her baby to the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, for proper care.
The Speaker admonished the woman never to take such risks of attempting to jump into a moving convoy as such actions could result into fatalities.
He further directed that she and her baby be brought to his residence for further assistance.
The woman who was overwhelmed with joy, thanked the Speaker for his kindheartedness and showered prayers upon him.
