Former Senate Minority Leader and Senator representing Abia South, Enyinnaya Abaribe has said the state Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has no pathway to defeat him (Abaribe) in the upcoming National Assembly election for the district.
Ikpeazu is seeking to represent Abia South senatorial district on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP while his former ally and ranking Senator, Abaribe is also eyeing the same seat despite serving for a record 12 years.
Featuring on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday monitored by ABN TV, the former deputy governor was sure of victory with his All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA ticket over Gov. Ikpeazu.

“For anybody who is winning an election, there must be a path to win and in the path to winning, there two key local governments and those local government areas are Aba North and Aba South, the third key local government is Obingwa local government where I and the governor come from.
“When you put all that into consideration and also put the other outline local governments, there is no path to winning for him.
“It speaks very clearly, he knows too, that is why you are hearing talks about vote-buying and all that, but I can tell you one thing; even at those times when the polls were not based on BIVAS, the votes were written by hand, we still always lost Aba to APGA because nobody could do that there, not to talk of today, where every vote will count, where BIVAS (binomial voter accreditation system) will be used to upload the results immediately after the polls, so we are very comfortable,” he said.
He expressed optimism that he will give Gov. Ikpeazu a bloody nose at the polls to represent Abia South in the Senate.
