In continuation of its charity outreach for indebted Abia pensioners and the elderly in the state, a non-governmental organisation, Sir Chikwe Udensi Foundation has fixed date and venue to reach out to Umunneochi, Isuikwuato, Ikwuano, Umuahia North, Umuahia South, Isialangwa North and Isialangwa South LGAs.
The outreach programme which is in conjunction with Rotary Club International will also hit Aba North & South, Osisioma, Obingwa, Ukwa East & West and Ugwunabo in its last segment programme.
A release signed by the President and Founder of the Foundation, Sir Chikwe Udensi said the mission which will involve cash disbursement and distribution of palliatives will take place on 26th January 2022 in Umunneochi LGA at Bishops Quarters, beside local govt Nkwo-agu.
In Ikwuano, Umuahia North, Umuahia South, Isialangwa North and Isialangwa South, the exercise will take place on 28th Jan 2022 at Awka Hall Umuahia.
On 29th Jan 2022, the train will move to BANA house. No. 1 factory road Aba for the pensioners and elderly persons in Aba North & South, Osisioma, Obingwa, Ukwa East & West and Ugwunabo local governments.
Sir Udensi in interaction with ABN TV said the exercise was earlier designed for pensioners in Abia said to be owed backlog of pension arrears by the state government.
The exercise was later adhusted to include the elderly because of their complicated health conditions.
Attached to the outreach team is a team of medical professionals who examine among other things the eye conditions of the elderly and retirees.
