Members-elect of the Abia State House of Representatives Caucus have endorsed the Spokesperson of the House and Member Representing Bende Federal Constituency, Hon. Benjamin Kalu as their Candidate for the position of Deputy Speaker for the 10th Assembly.
The Caucus made this resolution after a meeting held on the 6th of May, 2023 in Abuja where there all adopted the Abia Lawmaker, Hon. Kalu as the Deputy Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives.
Members of the Caucus present at the include; Hon. Amobi Ogah, Member-elect Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Hon. Ginger Onwusibe, Member-elect Isialangwa North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Obi Aguocha, Member-elect Ikwuano/Umuahia Fed. Constituency, Chief Chris Nkwonta, Member-elect Ukwa East and West Federal Constituency, Hon. Emeka Nnamani, Member-elect Aba North and South Federal Constituency, Hon Munachim Alozie, Member-elect Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency.
The Caucus raised a communique signed by all members made the following resolutions;
1. Adopted Spokesman of the 9th House, Rt Hon Ben Kalu as the leader of the caucus.
2. Adopted Rt Hon Ben Kalu as the sole candidate for the Deputy Speakership position of the 10th House of Representatives.
3. That with Rt. Hon. Kalu as the leader whoever he supports for the Speakership position is who we shall support.
The motion was moved by Chief Obi Aguocha of LP Member Elect to represent Ikwuano Umuahia Federal Constituency and seconded by Chief Chris Nkwonta of PDP Member-elect, Ukwa East and West Federal Constituency.
