Abia Poly Final Year Student Killed In Accident Set For Burial [See Poster]

Late Miss Mary Ogechi Ezekiel, a final year student of the Accounting Department of Abia Polytechnic killed in a fatal accident near the school gate is set for burial.

Miss Ogechi, will be buried at her country home on 18th April 2024, in Ndi Ogbu Amakwu, Igbere, Abia State.

She was one of the brightest students in the school and was recently been recognized as the best student in her field.

A burial arrangement released on behalf of the family by Ezekiel Abel Uko said her body will leave St Francis Mortuary, Aba-Owerri Road, and proceed to her hometown where it will be laid to rest.

A candlelight procession has earlier been held in her honour at her Omuma Road, Aba Abia State.

The 27-year-old had visited the school on Tuesday, the 5th of March 2024, to collect her final results. Little did she however know that this would be her last journey.

She was feared dead while crossing the road near the school gate when she was fatally crushed by a fast-moving heavy truck. The impact of the accident was devastating, leading to her untimely demise.

She was preparing for her upcoming National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme, a dream that has been cut short.

The news of her death left the school community in mourning mood.
