Abia Police Deny Having Shrine Where Investigations Are Conducted

Abia State Police Command has denied allegation that it has a shrine in Eziame Divisional Police Headquarters where Investigations are purportedly conducted, saying the allegation is false.

The command was responding a video depicting the shrine, which the command said is a product of ignorance and mischief.

In a statement on Thursday made available to ABN TV, the command’s spokesperson, ASP Mureen Chioma Chinaka said the items are exhibits recovered after a raid.

According to her, the items no longer have evidential value and will be discarded through the necessary due process.

“The objects shown in the video, which were referred to as shrine/oracle, are actually exhibits recovered by the police after raiding criminal hideouts and dens in the bushes.

“The report contained in the video is at best a product of ignorance or intentional mischief. However, it is important to note that since the items no longer hold significant evidential/ judicial value, the command will follow established procedures and dispose of the exhibits accordingly. This will prevent further misrepresentation, abuse, or mischief“, the command stated.

It therefore urged members of the public to disregard the allegations contained in the video.

The command says it would continue to put in its best towards enhancing the level of peace and security being experienced throughout Abia State.

“We urge everyone to refrain from sharing the video as the information contained therein is untrue and the impression created by the video is false”, it added.
