In fulfillment of his promise of touching the lives of Abia pensioners, Interpol Systems Consultant in Nigeria, Sir Chikwe Udensi in collaboration with Rotary Club of Abuja Downtown District 9125 and Rotary Club of Arochukwu Kingdom (P) District 9142 have concluded arrangements to roll out empowerment programme for the senior citizens.
The exercise will also feature distribution of palliatives to the pensioners to cushion the effects of hardship they are passing through following several months of non-payment by the state government.
The exercise which is slated to commence of December 9, 2021 will take place at BANA House, No 1 Factory Road, Aba Abia State.
Time for the official flag off of this programme is, 12noon.
Special Guests of Honour at the event are, DG Rotn Ayoola Oyedokun of District 9125, DG Rotn Okechukwu Okonkwo of District 9142, DG Rotn Eyone Andy Uwejeyan of District 9141 and DG Rotn Remi Bello of District 9110.
The event will take place under the Distinguished chairmanship of Prof. Cashmir Obialom.
ABN TV reports that Sir Udensi had recently enquired the updated list of Abia pensioners from the state government but was denied access.
The state government had said Sir Udensi’s decision to offer assistance to the starving pensioners in politically motivated.
Undeterred to roll out a robust life touching programmes that will benefit the pensioners, the security expert deviced other means which has not been disclosed to obtain the list.
As at last count, list of pensioners in about 4 local governments have been obtained.
He vowed to stop at nothing to ensure that the senior citizens smile during and after the Christmas celebration.
The Thursday event will coincide with the official flag off of Build A New Abia, BANA.
