The Abia State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC Umahia has received a new Commandant, Mr. Ayinla Taiye Olowo.
He replaces the former Commandant, Mr. Vincent Ogu who is now the Anambra State Commandant.
Olowo before his redeployment was the Yobe State Commandant of the Corps.
In a release signed by PRO of the command, Ndukwe Agu Egwu, the new Commandant assumed duty on Monday 21st June 2021 as the Eleventh substantive State Commandant of NSCDC, Abia State Command.

In his inaugural speech, Commandant Olowo pledged to bring his wealth of experience from Yobe State where he served as a State Commandant for many years to bear on his new place of National assignment, Abia.
He equally pledged to work with the State Government and collaborate with other sister security agencies in the State, urging the general public to provide timely and useful information to security agencies to serve them better.
“There is no alternative to peace hence I call on our people to promote dialogue in resolving issues so as to strengthen peaceful co-existence, deescalate hostilities and grow the economy,” Commandant Olowo said while addressing newsmen.
